The MIT-WHOI Theses are all included in the online catalog. A significant number have been digitized and are hosted in the Woods Hole Open Access Server, WHOAS.
To find all digitized theses in WHOAS:
- Go to the WHOI Theses Collection
- Theses can be browsed by clicking By Issue Date, Authors, or Titles.
Theses can be searched by full text in WHOAS:
- Go to the WHOI Theses Collection
- In the text box Search within this collection: type a word or phrase and click Go.
- Add filter to further narrow the results, type some text to add a filter to your results and click Add.
New theses are added as they are published. Older theses are added by request, assuming we can obtain the necessary permissions. Contact the WHOAS Project Manager whoas@whoi.edu to inquire about having a thesis added to WHOAS.
To find all theses in the online catalog:
- Go to the Library Catalog
- Select Keyword/Advanced Search tab
- In the first Searchr: box, enter "WHOI theses" and select "all of these"
- In the first within: box, select "Subject" in the pull-down menu
- Click Search
Theses can be searched by title or author in the online catalog:
- Go to the Library Catalog
- Select Keyword/Advanced Search tab
- In the first Search: box, enter "WHOI theses" and select "all of these"
- In the first within: box, select "Subject" in the pull-down menu
- In the second Search: box, enter words from the title or author's last name and select "all of these"
- In the second Search: box, select "Title" or "Author Name"
- Click Search
